TUK TUK THE MOVIE
BACKGROUND to rav:
Ravinol grew up in Dublin wanting to be a stockbroker as well as having a strong drive to understand the deeper questions in life.
In 1994, aged 21 he became a full time monk and spent seven years living a life of learning, discipline and devotion. In 1997, he spent a year dedicated to studying the ancient wisdom of the Vedas in a rural village in India called Vrindavan.
He now runs a multi-award winning film company called Be Inspired Films and is married with two children, meeting his wife at the local temple in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
BACKGROUND to the film:
In November 2016 he was invited to take part in an epic 1800km tuktuk journey across India which would culminate in a trip back to Vrindavan where he had lived 20 years before. The trip was to help raise funds for girls education in India so he decided to take a camera crew with him, dive in and interview people along the way to learn more about the issue.
Join him for a rollercoaster of adventure, colour, emotion and introspection (with quite a few hair-raising moments along the way).
P.S. Some people have questioned why a white guy is going to India to explore this issue.
Who are we if we cannot cross borders, open ourselves up to new understandings and connect with those who appear different from us? It's a journey of discovery and sometimes in the process we learn just what we need to.
